Repairs Under Way
Hurricane Tomas and the Pacific low pressure system that combined to dump record rainfall on Costa Rica have moved on and as of Sunday November 7, 2010 we’ve had two straight days of sun and clear skies over most of the country.
We’ve had updates from locals near most of the major outages along the Pan American and Pacific coastal Highways and both routes are re-opened although travel is significantly delayed by one lane sections and temporary repairs.

The death toll has reached 26 as a result of a massive mudslide in the hills of Santa Ana de Escazu and the roads in the immediate area are closed or restricted to emergency vehicles.
